For this room, I used seagrass wallcovering, white hardwoods, topped with a jute rug, and a plastered ceiling.  A boxcushion slipcovered sofa, and upholstered armchair offer comfortable seating.   Lighting is provided by both a beaded chandelier, and lamps.  Additional furnishings are a whitewashed coffee table with zinc top, a distressed cream console table, and end tables.  The colorful wall art offers a pop of color, balanced by the fringed throw.  The sofa is softened by fringed throw pillows. 

Victorian Period Style

Walls are painted in a burlap color by Ralph Lauren.  Windows are dressed in red drapes with valance and swags.  The floor is a walnut parquet.  Furnishings are done with a Victorian wood trim sofa, oversize Victorian armchairs, 19^th C Victorian coffee table, and Victorian shelves.  Lighting is provided by a crystal pendant.  Some accessories are vintage Victorian figurines and Victorian porcelain figurines.

Asian Style

Seating is provided by a large sofa with simple lines.   An upholstered ottoman balances the sofa.  A large bamboo sideboard is used, also a wood element.  A tall floor plant for the earth element.  A large slate wall fountain combines both the water element and a focal point.  Lighting is provided by a polished chrome floor lamp.
